For Immediate Release October 30, 2020 — Emerald River Maine is pleased to announce the selection of Matthew Carter of CES, Inc., for architecture design for a proposed adult use cannabis store to be located at 1240 Lisbon Street in Lewiston, Maine. Emerald River of Maine and CES, Inc. signed a contract for Mr. Carter’s architectural services from concept and design through to building completion, on October 1, 2020.
Emerald River Maine previously utilized CES, Inc. for an environmental evaluation of the Lewiston property prior to closing. In addition, the company is currently contracted with CES, Inc, for site design/engineering services under project manager Jon Whitten, Jr., PE.
Mr. Carter brings more than twenty-five years of architecture experience to the project. In addition to his role as Senior Architect at CES, Inc, headquartered in Bangor, he also is the principal of his own architecture design and consultancy firm, Carter Architectural Design LLC.
“We selected Matthew because of his knowledge of brand development as it relates to architecture,” said Matt Taggart, President of Emerald River Maine. “We want to construct a cannabis retail store and shopping experience which is on-brand for Emerald River Maine. In my initial conversations with Matthew, it was clear he understands brand, and how to bring brand to life via architecture. We have full confidence that he will transform our brand vision into a building that will feel warm and welcoming to the greater Lewiston community. And it’s a bonus that Matthew and the CES team have a Lewiston office, are headquartered in Maine, and understand Mainers.”
Emerald River Maine proposes to build and operate an adult-use cannabis retail store, of approximately 2700 square feet in size, at the site. Emerald River Maine filed a marijuana store permit application with the City of Lewiston on August 28, 2020. Emerald River Maine and CES look forward to continuing to work with City Hall, especially the Planning and Code Enforcement office, to ensure that all of the proper permits are obtained. These permits include a Building Development permit, along with electrical, plumbing, and signage permits.
Emerald River of Maine LLC was granted adult-use cannabis retailer Conditional License AMS398, by the Maine Office of Marijuana Policy (OMP), on August 28, 2020.
